Police Blotter: FedEx Delivery Missing; Vehicle Vandalized, Thieves Target Parked Cars

The following information was supplied by the Shelby Township Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

FedEx shipment missing 

 A resident of the Shelby Park Manor Apartments reported to police that a FedEx shipment had gone missing June 26. The resident said witnesses noticed the parcel, a $70 crystal bowl, was left near the entrance of the apartment building. When the resident arrived home later that night, the package was missing. FedEx confirmed it was delivered without signature.  

Vehicle vandalized

A Rochester Hills man reported to Shelby Township police that someone damaged a window on the cap of his Ford pick up truck as it was parked outside the Auburn Bar around 11:30 p.m. on July 1. 

Garage door opener, car radio, jewelry stolen from vehicles

A resident who lives near 25 Mile and Shelby roads reported that someone stole a garage door opener and shuffled through the car’s contents as the Ford was parked near a home sometime between June 30 and July 1. 

A Pioneer dashboard radio was reported stolen from a Chevrolet pickup parked near the Fox Lane Apartments June 29. 

The owner of a Ford Escape reported to police that someone entered the car and stole a men’s wedding ring as it was parked near the 26 Mile and Mound area July 2. 

Catalytic converter swiped

 On July 2 a Sterling Heights resident reported to Shelby Township police that while he shopped at the Barnes and Noble book store on Hall Road someone removed the catalytic converter from his Pontiac, parked on the east side of the lot.
